This was my first Trance outing at a club.Had a great time and the music was just amazing,I officially got hooked to trance thanks to it.While hearing certain tracks that night I had this feeling of ummmm this shit is like pretty good and where have you been all my life.And the club atmosphere and I just clicked from the start.I wanted to be part of this movement NOW.
This wasn’t anything like a weird candy raver paradise that i’d experienced at ’underground’ raves be4 (anyone remember the ones at Malibu Grand Prix of Miami, lol…)This American/Colombian teenager raised in a hip-hop town at the time had finally found his people.
Little did I know this was broadcasted on Pete Tongs Essential Mix show until I found it a couple of years later to my surprise. Listening to it again brings back great memories every time.
I’ll always credit Prodigy,Chemical Brothers,Faithless, etc.. for getting me into the Electronic Music Genre in the mid 90s, but I became a addict of the trance genre on march 28, 1999.
In terms of quality,Trance isn’t anything like it used to be anymore,but man for those years.., mainly 1999-2006,it was pretty nice.(I’ve of course eventually grown to love a lot of the trance made and mixed the years be4 99 as the years passed on as well and more was made available.)
Now if you would excuse me its time to “oil up those rollerblades and flex those pecs. …” :P
